Brice Rhodes

Brice Rhodes is accused of shooting and killing 40-year-old Christopher Jones on May 4, 2016. Then on May 21 he allegedly killed teenagers Larry Ordway and Maurice Gordon. The brothers - honor student Larry Ordway, 14, and his half-brother Maurice 'Reece' Gordon, 16 - looked up to the then 25-year-old Rhodes with the belief that the amateur rapper could make them famous. Their burned bodies were discovered beaten and stabbed in the backyard of an abandoned house in west Louisville. On May 4, 2016, the teens were in a car with Rhodes when the older man spotted Jones. Police alleged Rhodes jumped out of the car and shot Jones in the street. The incident turned the brothers' admiration of Rhodes into fear. Another teenager said he was also present and later involved in the boys' stabbing deaths Anjuan Carter, then 15, said that on May 21 while in Rhodes' apartment Gordon got into a fight with another boy - then-17-year-old - Jacorey Taylor. Gordon pulled out a large knife, but Rhodes snatched the weapon away. Rhodes then tied up the brothers and while Taylor and Carter watched, Rhodes repeatedly stabbed Gordon. Then Rhodes forced Taylor and Carter to help stab Ordway then clean up the scene. A medical examiner found Gordon had been stabbed more than a dozen times and Ordway more than 20 times. Rhodes picked up more charges while in jail, including attempted escape. Jail staff said he tried to dig out a hole in the cinder block, terroristic threatening, and assault on officers. The maximum penalty Rhodes could face if convicted is life in prison without the possibility of parole.
