U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Bree Kuhn, who was working onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola is charged with the first-degree premeditated murder of her 34-year-old husband, Collin Turner, on September 8, 2021, at their Jenks Drive home in Gulf Breeze. The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office received a 911 phone call from Kuhn after she and Turner got into a heated argument regarding their three children. Deputies found no evidence of a physical altercation. SRSO dispatchers then received a second call this time from Turner. Again deputies found no evidence of physical abuse. Turner placed the final 911 call that evening telling the dispatcher that Kuhn had locked him in their garage. Turner told dispatchers that his wife 'tried to break his arm when he tried to get back in the residence'. Dispatchers then heard Turner begin to say something else before he was cut off by the sound of gunfire. When dispatchers asked about the noise, Turner reportedly said, 'She just shot me'. Deputies arrived at the home four minutes later where they found Turner fatally shot in the garage. If convicted, Kuhn faces a mandatory minimum life sentence in Florida's Department of Corrections. |
