Phyllis Knox of Detroit said she was clearing snow from her car when Andrew Jackson ordered her to give up the keys. Her grandsons were in the car. Jackson is charged with carjacking, armed robbery, assault with intent to rob while armed, felonious assault, carrying a concealed weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful driving away of an automobile, resisting and obstructing, and felony firearm. During his capture he was kicked and punched by police officers. Jackson has filed a $1 million lawsuit against the officers who struck him. Their actions are being investigated by the prosecutor's office. The arrest was recorded by a woman.
