Larry White is charged with three counts of first-degree assault and battery by mob resulting in death, along with criminal conspiracy. The charges relate to when seven prisoners were killed at the Lee Correctional Institution during the deadliest prison riot in South Carolina history. The violence began the night of April 15, 2018, when fighting broke out inside the prison and eventually spread through three housing units. By the time officers regained control early the next morning, seven prisoners were dead and 17 others had been injured.
