Samantha Krebs was guilty of fatally stabbing her boyfriend. Krebs was charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the July 18, 2024 death of 35-year-old identified in court documents as J.J.C. On July 18 officers were dispatched to an apartment. They found a man lying in the apartment's kitchen with a stab wound to the left side of his chest. First responders rendered aid, but the man died before he was taken to the hospital. There were two witnesses at the scene, a man and a woman. The couple said that when they arrived at the apartment, Krebs was there. The man told officers Krebs 'looked directly at him' and instructed him to tell police that the victim stabbed himself. He told Krebs to leave, and called 911 around 10 minutes later. The woman said that before leaving, Krebs leaned down and kissed the man and said she was sorry. Appleton police arrested Krebs outside an apartment on July 22. Krebs initially acted like she did not know what happened, but later claimed that she had watched her boyfriend kill himself. Investigators located a binder, which included a handwritten six-page letter describing the events surrounding the victim's death, believed to have been written by Krebs. The letter said the victim had been acting delusional and then threatened to stab himself and make it look like Krebs did it. The victim then stabbed himself without realizing how sharp a new kitchen knife was, and Krebs tried to provide him aid until the two witnesses walked in the door. |
