Amish mother Ruth Miller is charged with aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, child endangering and domestic violence in the drowning death of her 4-year-old son Vincen at Atwood Lake, Ohio on August 23, 2025. Miller allegedly drove a golf cart into the water with her three teenage children aboard. Authorities say Miller threw her young son into the lake during what officials described as a mental health crisis involving 'spiritual delusions'. Miller allegedly said 'I gave my son to God' and 'He is at the bottom of the lake with the fish'. Her husband Marcus Miller drowned when trying to swim to a sandbar some time before Ruth Miller 'received a communication from God' and drove the golf cart into the water. Miller and her husband were of the Old Order Amish.
