Sean 'Diddy' Combs aka P Diddy, one of the most successful rappers and music moguls in the US, was arrested on September 16, 2024 and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York since his arrest. He was acquitted on the most serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking but was convicted on two lesser counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Each of the counts he was convicted of carry a maximum sentence of 10 years. However, his defense team has recommended that the judge hands down 14 months of prison time which would see him walk free almost immediately due to time already served. The prosecution is seeking at least an 11-year sentence. Combs is also being sued by more than two dozen people who have accused him of sexual assault, rape and sexual exploitation.
