Myisha Armitage

Myisha Lee Armitage faces charges of first-degree negligent homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal crash in the death of 19-year-old Kaulana Werner. The indictment said Armitage was the driver of the car that struck and killed Kaulana Werner as he crossed Farrington Highway fronting his home. Kaulana Werner was a former Kamehameha football player. Werner’s case has gotten a lot of attention over the years due to the persistence of his family, who refused to let his death become just another forgotten statistic. Their efforts led to 'Kaulana’s Bill,' which went into effect last July and authorizes the courts to extend prison terms for offenders convicted of first-degree negligent homicide, when the offender fails to render aid to the injured at the scene of an accident.
