Mark Sanchez

Former NFL quarterback and current analyst allegedly smelling of alcohol, accosted 69-year-old oil delivery driver Perry Tole Tole, who had backed his truck into the loading docks at the Westing Hotel in downtown Indianapolis on Oct. 4. Sanchez was in Indianapolis for Fox's coverage of the October 5, 2025 game between the Colts and the Las Vegas Raiders. Tole claims in a lawsuit that Sanchez entered the truck without permission, then physically blocked and shoved Tole, who then doused Sanchez with pepper spray. Police say he then stabbed Sanchez in self defense. Sanchez was hospitalized with stab wounds to his upper right torso. Tole was also taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Sanchez faces battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication in the case. Fox Sports and Sanchez are also facing a civil lawsuit that Tole filed. The lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages, claiming the Fox Corporation was negligent in hiring and supervising Sanchez.
