Leslie Boileau is charged with Manslaughter with a firearm in the September 19, 2024, shooting death of his girlfriend 25-year-old Polina Wright at his Ocala home. Wright died from a single gunshot between the eyes. Boileau has said he was cleaning his guns when Wright asked him about the firearms and he was training her how to use them. While they were dry firing the weapons, Boileau pointed an AR-style rifle at his girlfriend and a bullet hit her in the head. Boileau claims that he had forgotten that he had placed the loaded magazine into the rifle, which shot one live round in the direction of Wright that resulted in killing her.
