LeRoy Metoyer III pleaded guilty to the fatal assault of a one-year-old girl he was babysitting. Metoyer was charged with felony murder after the girl, Justice Starks, died from multiple blunt force trauma injuries to the head in November 2022. On July 24, three days after his trial had started, he pleaded guilty to one count of felony murder ending his jury trial. LeRoy was babysitting 1-year-old Justice Starks when she was hurt. EMS was called to the scene and transported the baby to the hospital but she died several days later. At the time of Justice's death, her father said the girl had fallen down steps and hit her head. The Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma to the head.
