It is alleged that Carlos Perez on March 7tth, 2025 intended to harm or defraud another without the consent of Clinton Butler. Police were called to the Wells Fargo Bank at 6919 South Zarzamora Street, San Antonio after a report of a male attempting to cash a check that did not belong to him. Carlos Perez had presented a check with the identifying information of Clinton Butler, who was a former District Attorney, but inquiries had found that Clinton Butler had not given permission for Carlos Perez to cash the check. Perez had a landscaping business and accepted checks for work that he had done. Perez claims that he is a victim of being given a check that was fraudulent.
