{"id":8921,"date":"2017-08-16T11:05:06","date_gmt":"2017-08-16T15:05:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=8921"},"modified":"2017-08-16T11:05:06","modified_gmt":"2017-08-16T15:05:06","slug":"model-kidnap-police-arrest-suspects-brother","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2017\/08\/16\/model-kidnap-police-arrest-suspects-brother\/","title":{"rendered":"Model kidnap: Police arrest suspect&#8217;s brother"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">The brother of the alleged captor of British model Chloe Ayling has been arrested, police have said.<\/p>\n<p>Michal Konrad Herba, 36, was held on a European Arrest Warrant at an address in Tividale, West Midlands.<\/p>\n<p>He is the brother of suspect Lukasz Pawel Herba, who is being held by Italian police after Ms Ayling was allegedly kidnapped in Milan.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Ayling, 20, was allegedly abducted and held by a group calling itself &#8220;Black Death&#8221; for five days.<\/p>\n<p>Michal Herba was arrested in a joint operation by West Midlands Police and East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU) and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on 17 August.<\/p>\n<p>It is alleged that\u00a0<a class=\"story-body__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-40858323\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">kidnappers attempted to sell Ms Ayling<\/a>\u00a0online for \u00a3230,000.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Ayling, from Coulsdon, south London, arrived in Milan on 10 July for a photo shoot.<\/p>\n<p>There, Italian police say she was attacked by two men, drugged with ketamine and abducted, apparently to be sold in an online auction.<\/p>\n<p>She is believed to have been transported in a bag to an isolated village near Turin, Italy, but was released on July 17.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Ayling&#8217;s lawyer Francesco Pesce has said she was told she would be sold in the Middle East &#8220;for sex&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking after the alleged abduction, Ms Ayling said she feared for her life throughout the &#8220;terrifying experience&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m incredibly grateful to the Italian and UK authorities for all they have done to secure my safe release,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Italian police documents revealed that suspect Lukasz Herba said he had got involved\u00a0<a class=\"story-body__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-40862148\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in order to raise money for cancer treatment<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A Polish national, who lives in Oldbury in the West Midlands, he told investigators he drove her to the British consulate in Milan and released her before the sale went ahead.<\/p>\n<p>The National Crime Agency and EMSOU said it was providing specialist support to the Italian police as part of the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-40951691\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">bbc.co.uk<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">The brother of the alleged captor of British model Chloe Ayling has been arrested, police have said.
