Her husband\u2019s family had recently found out that she had previously made complaints about them in April saying they had treated her with violence.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Kashyap is said to be in dispute over a dowry of \u00a38,300 given to her by her in-laws but then when she gave birth to a girl her husband\u2019s family were angered. She has been beaten a number of times, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/punjab\/viral-video-woman-assaulted-by-in-laws-over-dowry-demand-in-patiala\/story-eMCGE7VI3uF3Q53lNl4fPN.html\">Hindustan Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0(Warning: video shows beating)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Metro Embed Video Player\" src=\"http:\/\/metro.co.uk\/video\/embed\/1502401\" width=\"540\" height=\"353\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Police are bringing charges against her husband Daljit Singh, his brother Kamaljeet, and a friend identified only as Gaurav. The charges include trespass and \u2018voluntarily causing hurt\u2019. Her father said: \u2018We had complained about the issue last year itself but nothing was being done regarding that. \u2018They have been married for the past two years now and have a girl child.
