{"id":7140,"date":"2017-05-01T07:57:29","date_gmt":"2017-05-01T11:57:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=7140"},"modified":"2017-05-01T07:57:29","modified_gmt":"2017-05-01T11:57:29","slug":"three-women-arrested-anti-terror-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2017\/05\/01\/three-women-arrested-anti-terror-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Three women arrested by anti-terror police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">Three women have been arrested in connection with last week&#8217;s anti-terror operation in London in which a woman was shot by police.<\/p>\n<p>The women, two aged 18 and one 19, were arrested on Monday on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts.<\/p>\n<p>It follows a counter-terror operation on Thursday in which a 21-year-old woman was shot at a house in Willesden.<\/p>\n<p>The three arrested women are in custody outside London, police said.<\/p>\n<p>They were arrested after counter-terrorism officers from the Metropolitan Police Force carried out warrants at three addresses in east London.<\/p>\n<p>The Met said the arrests were made as part of an ongoing intelligence-led operation in connection with an address on Harlesden Road, Willesden, which was raided on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The 21-year-old who was shot during the police operation was discharged from hospital on Sunday before being arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorist acts.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed to be the first time a woman has been shot by police in 10 years. The last time was in 2007 when <a class=\"story-body__link\" href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/1\/hi\/england\/kent\/8652109.stm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ann Sanderson was fatally shot in Kent<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A further six people were also arrested in connection with the incident, including five at or near the Willesden address, which had been under observation by police, and one in Kent.<\/p>\n<p>Met Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu confirmed after Thursday&#8217;s raid that an active terror plot had been foiled.<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 624px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ichef-1.bbci.co.uk\/news\/624\/cpsprodpb\/1711E\/production\/_95849449_amoudi.jpg\" alt=\"Mohamed Amoudi\" width=\"624\" height=\"351\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>Mohamed Amoudi was arrested on Thursday in Willesden, north London<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>One of those arrested at the address was 21-year-old <a class=\"story-body__link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-39757042\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mohamed Amoudi<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It was revealed on Saturday that he had previously been quizzed by British authorities under suspicion of trying to travel to Syria to join so-called Islamic State.<\/p>\n<p>The other people taken into custody were a 20-year-old woman, a 16-year-old boy, and a man and woman both aged 28.<\/p>\n<p>Another woman, aged 43, was arrested from a property in Kent.<\/p>\n<p>Terror suspects can be held for a maximum of 14 days, with judicial approval.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday Met Police were given court authorisation to detain the suspects at a south London police station until after the bank holiday weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, on Sunday police were given more time by the courts to question a terror suspect who was arrested in Whitehall &#8211; also on Thursday &#8211; in an unrelated intelligence-led counter-terrorism operation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Khalid-Mohammed-Omar-Ali.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7142 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Khalid-Mohammed-Omar-Ali.jpg\" alt=\"Khalid Mohammed Omar Ali\" width=\"542\" height=\"334\" srcset=\"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Khalid-Mohammed-Omar-Ali.jpg 542w, https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Khalid-Mohammed-Omar-Ali-300x185.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 542px) 100vw, 542px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Khalid Mohammed Omar Ali, 27, was arrested near Parliament Square, near the Houses of Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>The courts granted a warrant of further detention so police until Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-39770195\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bbc.co.uk<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">Three women have been arrested in connection with last week&#8217;s anti-terror operation in London in which a woman was shot by police.
