Kenzey had left her child with her boyfriend Kyle who she knew could be violent. She also failed to call an ambulance urgently when she could see her daughter was in pain and distressed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Viewers watched as Kenzey spent months defending her innocence and that of \u00a0Kyle, the father of her baby &#8211; before they were both convicted. They were appalled that Kenzey showed more concern for her boyfriend than her daughter who has been left brain damaged and branded the pair &#8216;evil&#8217;. They blasted their sentences as lenient.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"molvideoplayer\" title=\"MailOnline Embed Player\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/embed\/video\/1407441.html\" width=\"698\" height=\"573\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">In dramatic scenes aired on Monday night Kenzey was convicted and sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison &#8211; while her boyfriend Kyle was jailed for 18.<\/p>\n<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i.dailymail.co.uk\/i\/pix\/2017\/02\/06\/22\/3CE806A500000578-4196810-image-m-38_1486421841261.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p><em>Kyle, the father of Kenzey&#8217;s baby, maintained his innocence, but was slammed as &#8216;evil&#8217; by horrified viewers who said his sentencing was too lenient\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">Before the verdict, Kenzey protested: &#8216;That does not make me an abusive person, &#8217;cause I&#8217;m not. If they think that, then they think we&#8217;re monsters.&#8217;\u00a0\u00a0 Filmmaker Rob McCabe said he wanted to expose what goes through the minds of those who have committed serious crimes. \u00a0 Viewers were invited to form their own judgement before the verdicts were read out, while Kenzey was questioned by her legal team.\u00a0 Kenzey was eventually found guilty of child cruelty, for not calling the emergency services quickly enough once it was clear the baby was unwell.\u00a0\u00a0 Meanwhile Kyle was found guilty of two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent, with a sentence of 18 years.\u00a0 Kenzey had denied seeing her boyfriend Kyle shake their baby daughter and stuck by him throughout, even after he was charged.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" id=\"molvideoplayer\" title=\"MailOnline Embed Player\" src=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/embed\/video\/1407495.html\" width=\"698\" height=\"573\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/femail\/article-4196810\/The-Accused-viewers-blast-mother-GUILTY-cruelty.html#v-5195593251427663892\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/femail\/article-4196810\/The-Accused-viewers-blast-mother-GUILTY-cruelty.html#v-5195593251427663892<\/a><\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">It was her unwavering belief that contributed to her conviction, according to her lawyer Ronnie Manek.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">&#8216;Kyle professed his innocence saying &#8220;it wasn&#8217;t me&#8221; and I think she believed her boyfriend and didn&#8217;t want to be seen to attack his character,&#8217; Ronnie explained following the verdicts.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">And her misguided loyalty to him is what caused her to be convicted.\u00a0 Kenzey was so adamant of her innocence that she claimed: &#8216;I don&#8217;t feel like a human being.\u00a0 The way I&#8217;m being spoken about, the way I&#8217;m being judged on this earth.\u00a0 If people think that Kyle or I have done something, then you\u2019re looking at a couple of monsters \u2013 someone you can compare to Ian Huntley, Myra Hindley or Fred and Rose West.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">But viewers were far from sympathetic, suggesting that she must have known what happened to her daughter &#8211; even before the verdicts were announced.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3 class=\"mol-factbox-title\">TIMELINE OF THE CASE<\/h3>\n<div class=\"ins cleared mol-factbox-body\">\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">On November 3rd 2014, parents Kenzey and Kyle made a call to NHS Direct to say their seven-week-old baby wasn&#8217;t breathing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">On November 4th, the next day, Kenzey, then 21, and Kyle, were arrested\u00a0after her baby was found with a fractured skull, bleeding on the brain, and severe retinal haemorrhaging.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mol-para-with-font\">She was charged in January 2016 with two offences &#8211;
