{"id":469,"date":"2016-10-06T14:45:18","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T18:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=469"},"modified":"2016-10-06T14:45:18","modified_gmt":"2016-10-06T18:45:18","slug":"uber-lyft-to-cease-operations-in-philadelphia-by-court-order","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2016\/10\/06\/uber-lyft-to-cease-operations-in-philadelphia-by-court-order\/","title":{"rendered":"Uber, Lyft to Cease Operations in Philadelphia by Court Order"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Less than a week after a temporary agreement of immunity between the services and the Philadelphia Parking Authority (PPA) expired &#8211; Ride-hailing services UberX and Lyft were served a cease-and-desist order issued by\u00a0Common Pleas Judge Linda Carpenter.<\/p>\n<p>The immediate moratorium was declared because of the PPA&#8217;s claim that it cannot\u00a0restrain UberX and Lyft from operating.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Carpenter&#8217;s order comes\u00a0from a lawsuit by\u00a0members of the Taxi Workers Alliance of Philadelphia that sought to halt an agreement\u00a0between the PPA and the ride-hailing services which allowed\u00a0them to temporarily operate.<\/p>\n<p>Gov.
