{"id":4318,"date":"2016-12-19T14:57:37","date_gmt":"2016-12-19T19:57:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=4318"},"modified":"2016-12-19T14:58:34","modified_gmt":"2016-12-19T19:58:34","slug":"isis-offers-1m-reward-murder-woman-dropped-university-fight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2016\/12\/19\/isis-offers-1m-reward-murder-woman-dropped-university-fight\/","title":{"rendered":"Isis &#8216;offers $1m reward&#8217; for murder of woman who dropped out of university to fight them"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By <a title=\"Bethan McKernan\" href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/author\/bethan-mckernan\">Bethan McKernan<\/a> Beirut<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/isis\">Isis<\/a> has reportedly offered a $1 million reward for the killing of a Kurdish-Danish woman who dropped out of university in 2014 to fight the extremist group in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/syria\">Syria<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/iraq\">Iraq<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/europe\/joanna-palani-danish-kurdish-woman-ypg-peshmerga-iraq-syria-fighting-isis-faces-jail-passport-police-a7471266.html\">Joanna Palani<\/a>, 23, is currently behind bars and facing trial in Copenhagen for leaving the country after a 12-month travel ban imposed in June 2015.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ironically, if found guilty she faces up to two years in prison under the new laws designed to stem the flow of Isis fighters from Denmark to the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cHow can I pose a threat to Denmark and other countries by being a soldier in an official army that Denmark trains and supports directly in the fight against [Isis]?\u201d she posted on Facebook shortly after her passport was confiscated.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ms Palani\u2019s high profile means she is often the subject of vicious threats both on and offline. The latest offerings of financial reward for her death were made by Isis social media channels in several different languages over the weekend, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alarabiya.net\/ar\/social-media\/2016\/12\/18\/%D9%85%D9%86-%D9%87%D8%B0%D9%87-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AD%D8%B3%D9%86%D8%A7%D8%A1-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%AA%D9%8A-%D8%B1%D8%B5%D8%AF-%D8%AF%D8%A7%D8%B9%D8%B4-%D9%85%D9%84%D9%8A%D9%88%D9%86-%D8%AF%D9%88%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%B1-%D9%84%D9%82%D8%AA%D9%84%D9%87%D8%A7%D8%9F.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">al-Arabiya<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ms Palani, whose family originate from Iranian Kurdistan, was born in a refugee camp in Ramadi in Iraq during the first Gulf War.
