{"id":3915,"date":"2016-12-09T06:14:42","date_gmt":"2016-12-09T11:14:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=3915"},"modified":"2016-12-09T06:14:42","modified_gmt":"2016-12-09T11:14:42","slug":"geert-wilders-found-guilty-in-hate-speech-trial-but-no-sentence-imposed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2016\/12\/09\/geert-wilders-found-guilty-in-hate-speech-trial-but-no-sentence-imposed\/","title":{"rendered":"Geert Wilders found guilty in hate speech trial but no sentence imposed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Dutch court has convicted populist anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders of hate speech charges at the end of a trial he branded a politically motivated \u201ccharade\u201d that endangered freedom of speech.<\/p>\n<p>Presiding Judge Hendrik Steenhuis said the court would not impose a sentence on Wilders, saying that the conviction was punishment enough for a democratically elected politician.<\/p>\n<p>The charges stem from a 2014 incident in which Wilders led supporters to chant that they wanted \u201cFewer! Fewer! Fewer!\u201d Moroccans in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>Wilders was not in court for the verdict that came just over three months before national elections.
