Prosecutor to Decide Today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Update: Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Deters said during a morning press conference that\u00a0he will retry Ray Tensing who was accused of murder in a\u00a0fatal shooting during a traffic stop last year. \u00a0Deter&#8217;s\u00a0office will be seeking a change of venue, citing the trial&#8217;s intense media scrutiny and social media publicity. \u00a0A hearing on the case is scheduled for Nov. 28 before Hamilton County Judge Megan Shanahan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton County Ohio: \u00a0The prosecutor will announce today whether there will be a new trial for Ray Tensing, a former police officer, after a mistrial was declared Nov. 12. \u00a0 Tensing was accused\u00a0of murder and voluntary manslaughter in the July 2015 traffic stop shooting of Sam DuBose.<\/p>\n<p>Jurors had deliberated about 25 hours in the first trial but could not reach a verdict.<\/p>\n<p>DuBose family members, the Cincinnati City Council and others pressed for a new murder trial.<\/p>\n<p>To convict Tensing, of murder, jurors had to find he purposely killed DuBose, 43. \u00a0That charge carries a possible sentence of 15 years to life in jail.<\/p>\n<p>The voluntary manslaughter charge means the killing happened during sudden passion or a fit of rage with a possible sentence of three to 11 years.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">Update: Hamilton County Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Deters said during a morning press conference that\u00a0he will retry Ray Tensing who was accused of murder in a\u00a0fatal shooting during a traffic stop last year. \u00a0Deter&#8217;s\u00a0office will be <a class=\"mh-excerpt-more\" href=\"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2016\/11\/22\/new-trial-for-ray-tensing-prosecutor-to-decide-today\/\" title=\"Updated: New Trial for Ray Tensing?
