{"id":30995,"date":"2026-07-05T06:56:36","date_gmt":"2026-07-05T10:56:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=30995"},"modified":"2026-07-05T06:56:36","modified_gmt":"2026-07-05T10:56:36","slug":"former-chess-champion-kramnik-banned-over-cheating-remarks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2026\/07\/05\/former-chess-champion-kramnik-banned-over-cheating-remarks\/","title":{"rendered":"Former chess champion Kramnik banned over cheating remarks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">The World Chess Federation (Fide) has banned former world champion Vladimir Kramnik for at least a year over verbal attacks he made on other players, including the late Daniel Naroditsky.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The body said it had found Kramnik &#8220;responsible for multiple violations&#8221; of its ethics and disciplinary code after the Russian accused other players of cheating.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">US grandmaster Naroditsky\u00a0<a class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/c15pz8vpjp9o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">died last October at the age of 29<\/a>. Prior to his death, he had denied any wrongdoing and indicated the controversy had taken a toll on him in his final Twitch broadcast.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Kramnik wrote on X that he will appeal against his suspension.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Twelve months of the ban have been suspended for a probationary period of three years, Fide said. It means the active suspension is one year provided no further breaches occur during probation.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p id=\"main-heading\" class=\"ssrcss-bh9yn6-Heading e10rt3ze0\" tabindex=\"-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/crmxj102039o\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span role=\"text\">Chess federation looking into Vladimir Kramnik&#8217;s attacks on grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Naroditsky was a popular player, teacher and commentator.
