(Image: Reuters)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The ICC, the world&#8217;s criminal court of last resort, has been rocked by the investigation into Mr Khan, its most prominent official, as well as US sanctions over the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/benjamin-netanyahu-international-criminal-court-prosecutor-seeks-arrest-warrants-against-israeli-prime-minister-and-hamas-leaders-13140095\">arrest warrants issued for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and Yoav Gallant, the former defence minister, over alleged war crimes.<\/p>\n<p>A report by United Nations (UN) \u200cinvestigators found a &#8220;factual basis&#8221; for the allegations of sexual misconduct, and that witness accounts &#8220;lend support to her claims&#8221;, the sources said.<\/p>\n<p>However, a second report by three judges who analysed the UN report found the evidence insufficient to establish the truth of the allegations &#8220;beyond a reasonable doubt&#8221;, they said.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers for Mr Khan claimed in late March that the judges unanimously concluded that the &#8220;factual findings do not establish misconduct or breach of duty&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>However, other nations, including the ICC&#8217;s biggest backers, voted to continue proceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Officials from the prosecutor&#8217;s office also opposed Mr Khan&#8217;s continued service as chief prosecutor in a letter read out at Wednesday&#8217;s meeting.<\/p>\n<p>The prosecutor&#8217;s office has declined to comment on the development as it was an ongoing process.<\/p>\n<p>Source: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/sky-news-logo-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/sky-news-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Sky News\" width=\"100\" height=\"20\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/icc-prosecutor-who-issued-arrest-warrant-for-benjamin-netanyahu-facing-disciplinary-proceedings-13527229\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news.sky.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) will face disciplinary proceedings over accusations of sexual misconduct, it has been reported.
