{"id":28603,"date":"2024-11-17T05:15:47","date_gmt":"2024-11-17T10:15:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=28603"},"modified":"2024-11-17T05:15:47","modified_gmt":"2024-11-17T10:15:47","slug":"the-former-fraudster-helping-councils-catch-criminals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2024\/11\/17\/the-former-fraudster-helping-councils-catch-criminals\/","title":{"rendered":"The former fraudster helping councils catch criminals"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Alex Wood says that to his &#8220;mother&#8217;s shame&#8221; he committed some of the most &#8220;high profile&#8221; financial offences in recent history.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Those crimes span from\u00a0<a class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-england-london-35052846\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">staying in Mayfair hotels<\/a>\u00a0pretending to be the Duke of Marlborough to Authorised Push Payment (APP) fraud where victims are convinced to transfer money, thinking they are sending it to their bank.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">But perhaps his mother would be prouder of his more recent career.
