A British national has said he is at a loss as to why the Nigerian police have accused him of planning to overthrow Nigeria\u2019s government and placed a bounty on his head.<\/b><\/p>\n

It was alleged by Nigeria\u2019s police spokesperson on Monday that Andrew Wynne – and a co-conspirator – had built up a network of sleeper cells to destabilise Nigeria and had fled the country in the wake of last month\u2019s cost-of-living protests.<\/p>\n

Speaking from the UK, Mr Wynne told Nigeria\u2019s Channels Television he was not aware of accusations and would be happy to talk to officials.<\/p>\n

He said he ran a bookshop in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, and had been visiting the West African nation for 25 years without any problems.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

A reward of 10m naira ($6,000, \u00a35,000) has been offered by Nigeria\u2019s police to anyone who has information that could lead to the arrest of Mr Wynne \u2013 and the same amount for his alleged Nigerian accomplice Lucky Obiyan.<\/p>\n
