A murder inquiry has been launched after the bodies of five people were found in a flat north-east of Paris.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The victims are a woman and her four children aged between nine months and 10 years old, prosecutors say.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Their bodies were found late on Monday evening in the town of Meaux, 40km (25 miles) from the French capital.<\/p>\n

The children’s father was missing. Police began looking for the 33-year-old father, who they believed was “on the run”.<\/p>\n

Relatives had raised the alarm after they failed to receive any response from the family.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The flat had showed no sign of break-in, hinting at a perpetrator familiar with the residence.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The father was finally detained at his father\u2019s residence in Sevran, Seine-Saint-Denis, in the early hours of the morning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Prosecutor Jean-Baptiste Bladier confirmed to French media that the Versailles judicial police service was investigating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
