{"id":24994,"date":"2023-03-30T07:53:09","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T11:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=24994"},"modified":"2023-03-30T07:53:09","modified_gmt":"2023-03-30T11:53:09","slug":"britains-most-notorious-prisoner-charles-bronson-to-remain-in-jail-following-public-parole-hearing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2023\/03\/30\/britains-most-notorious-prisoner-charles-bronson-to-remain-in-jail-following-public-parole-hearing\/","title":{"rendered":"Britain&#8217;s most notorious prisoner Charles Bronson to remain in jail following public parole hearing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Britain&#8217;s most notorious prisoner Charles Bronson will remain behind bars after being denied release by the Parole Board.<\/p>\n<p>Bronson, 70, was jailed for armed robbery in 1974 and, but for a couple of brief episodes of freedom, has been in jail ever since.<\/p>\n<p>His original seven-year sentence has been extended many times because of his violent attacks on prison staff and fellow inmates.<\/p>\n<p>He has been denied release following a public parole hearing where he claimed to be\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/charles-bronson-best-hostage-to-naked-rumble-15-things-britains-most-notorious-prisoner-revealed-at-parole-hearing-12827414\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a &#8220;born-again artist&#8221; who &#8220;went through a phase&#8221;<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0of taking hostages.<\/p>\n<p>The Parole Board&#8217;s decision comes a day after he\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/charles-bronson-claims-he-now-hates-violence-in-voice-note-from-prison-12845078\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">sent a voice note to Sky News<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0claiming he &#8220;hates violence&#8221; and has been a &#8220;model prisoner&#8221; for the last decade.<\/p>\n<p>Bronson, who has changed his named to Charles Salvador, also claimed he has &#8220;never been a danger to the public&#8221;, adding: &#8220;I love the world&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>During his parole hearing earlier this month a prison psychologist said although Bronson posed a moderate risk of violence inside jail, it would be a high risk if he was freed.<\/p>\n<p>Another psychologist, Kerry Daynes, who was called by Bronson, said she felt he should probably stay where he is and be given a gradual introduction to open conditions.<\/p>\n<p>During the hearing, held at Woodhill Prison near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, Bronson handed the three board members examples of his artwork, telling them: &#8220;Each piece of art is a piece of me.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Source: \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/sky-news-logo-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/sky-news-logo-1.png\" alt=\"Sky News\" width=\"100\" height=\"20\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/news.sky.com\/story\/britains-most-notorious-prisoner-charles-bronson-to-remain-in-jail-following-public-parole-hearing-12845350\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news.sky.com<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">Britain&#8217;s most notorious prisoner Charles Bronson will remain behind bars after being denied release by the Parole Board.
