A mother, stepfather and a teenager have been given life sentences for murdering five-year-old Logan Mwangi and dumping his body in a river.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

John Cole, 40, will serve a minimum term of 29 years in prison while Logan’s mother, Angharad Williamson, 31, will serve at least 28 years.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Craig Mulligan, 14, will serve at least 15 years.\u00a0All three were convicted of murdering Logan<\/a>\u00a0in July 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

His body was found in the River Ogmore, near his home in Sarn, Bridgend county.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mrs Justice Jefford told Cardiff Crown Court that the attack on the “defenceless” schoolboy, who weighed 3st 1lb (20kg), was “nothing short of horrifying”.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Mulligan –\u00a0who can now be publicly named for the first time<\/a>\u00a0after a judge lifted an\u00a0anonymity order<\/a>\u00a0– is not the biological son of Cole but he raised him from the age of nine months and considered himself a father figure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
