Believe me, I&#8217;ll be raising this.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i86\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Former Justice Secretary Robert Buckland told the Sun, which\u00a0<a class=\"ssrcss-1gfaiii-InlineLink e1no5rhv0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thesun.co.uk\/news\/18537684\/levi-bellfield-engaged-blonde\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first reported the news<\/a>, that any prospective wedding &#8220;beggars belief&#8221;.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i86\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">&#8220;Milly never got to see her wedding day. A request cannot be approved if the prisoner is likely to be released or deported in the next three months.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i86\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">If permission is granted<b class=\"ssrcss-hmf8ql-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">,<\/b>\u00a0the prisoner and their partner are expected to pay any costs associated with the wedding, such as transport to the ceremony if it takes place outside prison.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i86\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Violent offender Charles Bronson, who is currently serving a life term,\u00a0<a class=\"ssrcss-1gfaiii-InlineLink e1no5rhv0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-41777270\">was married while in prison in 2017<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; after becoming pen pals with former soap actress Paula Williamson.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i86\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">She first wrote to Bronson in 2013, after reading his book on living in Broadmoor psychiatric hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i86\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Willamson, who played small roles in Coronation Street and Hollyoaks<b class=\"ssrcss-hmf8ql-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">,<\/b>\u00a0told The Sun newspaper in 2019 that she had applied to have the marriage annulled. The following month, Williamson was found dead, aged 38, after drinking alcohol and taking drugs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i86\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Infamous US cult leader and murderer Charles Manson, who died in 2017,\u00a0<a class=\"ssrcss-1gfaiii-InlineLink e1no5rhv0\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/world-us-canada-36091052\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">became engaged to an admirer<\/a>\u00a0while in prison in California.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ssrcss-uf6wea-RichTextComponentWrapper e1xue1i86\" data-component=\"text-block\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Elaine &#8220;Star&#8221; Burton had begun corresponding with Manson in 2007 when she was just 17. She later announced that she and Manson had become engaged.
