{"id":1911,"date":"2016-10-27T11:57:59","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T15:57:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=1911"},"modified":"2016-10-27T11:57:59","modified_gmt":"2016-10-27T15:57:59","slug":"judge-excludes-two-from-claim-to-princes-estate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2016\/10\/27\/judge-excludes-two-from-claim-to-princes-estate\/","title":{"rendered":"Judge Excludes Two From Claim to Prince&#8217;s Estate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A judge excluded two would-be heirs from any further consideration in their claim to the estate of Prince Rogers Nelson.<\/p>\n<p>Brianna Nelson and her niece, Victoria Nelson, had claimed they were entitled to a share because Prince referred to Brianna\u2019s father and Victoria\u2019s grandfather, Duane Nelson Sr., as his brother, and because Prince\u2019s biological father treated Duane Nelson Sr. like a son. \u00a0Duane Nelson Sr. died in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>But a District Judge ruled that without evidence of a genetic connection between Nelson and Prince &#8211; there\u2019s no law to support the women\u2019s claim. \u00a0The court ruling leaves six heirs with a claim to the estate &#8211; Prince\u2019s sister, and five half-siblings.<\/p>\n<p>Prince\u2019s estate is estimated to be worth up to $300 million but after the tax bill is paid, it may be reduced to half that. \u00a0Prince died April 21 of an accidental overdose of the painkiller fentanyl.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">A judge excluded two would-be heirs from any further consideration in their claim to the estate of Prince Rogers Nelson.
