{"id":1664,"date":"2016-10-25T07:32:41","date_gmt":"2016-10-25T11:32:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=1664"},"modified":"2016-10-25T07:32:41","modified_gmt":"2016-10-25T11:32:41","slug":"jury-watches-video-of-torture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2016\/10\/25\/jury-watches-video-of-torture\/","title":{"rendered":"Jury Watches Video of Torture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Hong Kong jury was played about 20 minutes of video in which Rurik Jutting apparently tortures Sumarti Ningsih, 23. \u00a0The media and public could not view it but heard the audio.<\/p>\n<p>The video was shown on the second day of Jutting &#8216;s trial for the murders of Ningsih and Seneng Mujiasih, 26. \u00a0Their bodies were found in his apartment near the city&#8217;s red-light district in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>At one point he can be heard saying: &#8220;If you scream I will punish you. Understand?&#8221; \u00a0Then the sound of smacking and slapping is heard, and later the sound of a woman whimpering. \u00a0Jutting then tells her not to cry.<\/p>\n<p>Later, both jurors and the public gallery were shown hours of iPhone video in which Jutting, wearing no clothes, delivers an extended rambling monologue to the camera. &#8220;My name is Rurik Jutting. \u00a0About five minutes ago I just killed, murdered, this woman here,&#8221; he says while moving it to show her body in his bathroom.<\/p>\n<p>He says on camera he held the woman captive and raped her repeatedly and how he felt no guilt or emotion after killing Sumarti. \u00a0&#8220;I&#8217;ve always had dark fantasies&#8221; involving rape, torture, murder, he said.<\/p>\n<p>He is seen snorting what appeared to be cocaine\u00a0several times in the videos, which were filmed over eight days. &#8220;I have killed two. The first one I tortured. There will be no redemption for me, but they are dancing with angels,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Both women went to his apartment after Jutting offered them money for sex. \u00a0Prosecutors said he killed them\u00a0by slitting their throats.<\/p>\n<p>Jutting, 31, has pleaded not guilty to murder. \u00a0Prosecutors rejected his attempt to plead guilty to the charge of manslaughter. \u00a0If convicted, he faces life in prison.<\/p>\n<p>The trial is scheduled to continue Wednesday and continue\u00a0for three weeks.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\">A Hong Kong jury was played about 20 minutes of video in which Rurik Jutting apparently tortures Sumarti Ningsih, 23. \u00a0The media and public could not view it but heard the audio.
