Fort Pierce, Florida: \u00a0Tyler Hadley’s\u00a0court-appointed attorneys will meet with a judge to discuss when he will be resentenced for killing his parents. \u00a0Hadley is not expected to be at the\u00a0hearing.<\/p>\n
Hadley was ordered to serve two life terms in prison for the beating deaths of his parents. \u00a0He was 17 when the murders of Blake Hadley, 54, and Mary Jo Hadley, 47, took place.<\/p>\n
St. Lucie Circuit Judge James McCann didn\u2019t order the 22-year-old to attend Thursday\u2019s hearing, which may only last a few minutes.<\/p>\n
Hadley was granted a re-sentencing by the 4th District Court of Appeal, which rejected the sentence\u00a0imposed by now-retired Circuit Judge Robert Makemson. \u00a0 The appellate court concluded Makemson didn’t\u00a0consider the correct alternative to the\u00a0life sentence.<\/p>\n
Hadley\u2019s lawyer, Public Defender Diamond Litty, asked Circuit Judge James McCann last July to give them up to eight months to prepare for the re-sentencing.<\/p>\n
Litty hopes to convince McCann that Hadley should not be punished with a life prison term while state prosecutors will argue Hadley should remain behind bars for life, with no chance of\u00a0parole.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
