An intruder was shot during a break-in at supermodel Miranda Kerr’s mansion in Los Angeles, it has been reported.<\/p>\n

Police said they were called to a home in\u00a0Malibu\u00a0after a “physical altercation” between an armed guard and an intruder.<\/p>\n

Neighbours said the mansion belongs to Australian supermodel\u00a0Kerr, local TV news station KTLA reports.<\/p>\n

During the incident the security guard reportedly shot the intruder in the head, while the guard was stabbed in the face.<\/p>\n

Police said they were both taken to hospital – the intruder was in a critical condition with non-life threatening injuries and the guard was said to be in a stable condition.<\/p>\n

In a statement Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said: “There were no occupants in the house at the time of this incident.”<\/p>\n

“The incident took place on the property, but not inside the house.”<\/p>\n

Police tweeted a picture of medics providing care to a “stabbing victim” being airlifted to hospital shortly after the incident.<\/p>\n
