22-year-old Ashton Sachs, who admitted to killing his parents and trying to kill two younger siblings during a late night attack at the family\u2019s San Juan Capistrano home was ordered Friday to spend the rest of his life behind bars.<\/p>\n
Orange County Superior Court Judge Gregg L. Prickett sentenced Ashton Sachs to four life sentences \u2013 two without the possibility of parole – as well as nearly 100 additional years in prison for the use of a firearm and other sentencing enhancements.<\/p>\n
During the early-morning hours of Feb. 9, 2014, he shot his parents, Bradford and Andra Sachs, to death as they slept in their bed. He then shot and paralyzed his 7-year-old brother, Landon, and tried to shoot his 17-year-old sister, Alexis.<\/p>\n
During a court hearing last month Sachs abruptly pleaded guilty to the murders.\u00a0He gave no indication at the hearing last month why he chose to change his previous not guilty plea.<\/p>\n
Sachs had been representing himself after letting go of his court appointed attorney.<\/p>\n
When asked by the judge if he wanted to make a statement to the court he\u00a0shook his head to indicate no.<\/p>\n
