{"id":10393,"date":"2018-01-27T16:12:21","date_gmt":"2018-01-27T21:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/?p=10393"},"modified":"2018-01-27T16:12:21","modified_gmt":"2018-01-27T21:12:21","slug":"brazil-gunmen-storm-fortaleza-nightclub-killing-14","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldjusticenews.com\/news\/2018\/01\/27\/brazil-gunmen-storm-fortaleza-nightclub-killing-14\/","title":{"rendered":"Brazil: Gunmen storm Fortaleza nightclub killing 14"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">Gunmen have stormed a nightclub in north-east Brazil, killing at least 14 people.<\/p>\n<p>Three cars of attackers swooped in on the venue, located on the outskirts of Fortaleza, during the early hours of Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p>Two minors are among the dead and several people were taken to hospital, including a 12-year-old boy.<\/p>\n<p>Local media said the attackers were part of a criminal gang involved in drug trafficking.<\/p>\n<p>The security secretary for Ceara state, Andre Costa, confirmed the deaths at the Forro do Gago club in a press conference.<\/p>\n<div class=\"story-body\">\n<div class=\"story-body__inner\">\n<p>&#8220;There is no reason for panic and fear,&#8221; Mr Costa was quoted by the Globo news network as saying.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a one-off event, as occurs all over the world, with 50 or 60 deaths,&#8221; he said, adding that the police could not have done anything to stop it.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, there were 5,114 murders in Ceara, a 50% rise from 2016.
