On June 2, 2019 Andrea Poynter was a passenger in a car driven by Adam Lang bringing their dog home from a kennel after having been away on a trip. At the time they were boyfriend and girlfriend though that is no longer the case. When the accident happened their car was proceeding through a green light, Adam and Andrea were both wearing a seatbelt and Andrea had her feet on the dashboard. A car driven by Ms Welkley failed you yield the right of way and turned left in front of them causing an accident to happen. Andrea was seriously injured leaving her with life changing injuries and medical bills in excess of $90,000.
