Man Sentenced to 100 Years for Daughter’s Murder

Mobile, AL:  Having been found guilty of the murder of his daughter, Hiawatha Robinson was sentenced to 100 years in prison for the death of the 8 year old.  The jury found Hiawatha Robinson guilty of sodomy and felony murder in connection to the death of his daughter, Hiawayi.

Robinson, who addressed the court by saying his life was being taken away from him on a lie said:  “You all need to remember this face, because I will be back.  You took me away from my family; you took me away for my friends; you took me away from my fishing trips, all on a lie.  But, believe me, I will be back out there again.”

Judge Charles Graddick said Robinson dangerous and remarked that the statement about ‘coming back’ could be considered a threat. Graddick also said Robinson was more worried about not being able to fish and has zero remorse.   Graddick, however, told Robinson: “The only way you’ll be back here is in a pine box.  I’m going to do everything in my power to keep you in prison.”

Hiawayi went missing from her apartment complex in Prichard in September of 2014.  Her body was found two days later.

The jury was unanimous in the verdict although the case had no direct evidence, no DNA or fingerprints.   Robinson has maintained his innocence.
