Marco Antonio Moreno-Vasquez is charged with the murder of Dueniel Valladares-Fernandez, 32, on February 16, 2023. Moreno-Vasquez is being tried under the law of parties, which allows prosecutors to hold a person criminally responsible for a killing committed by someone else. Moreno-Vasquez, 37, didn't fire the shot that killed Valladares Fernandez. But prosecutors say he ordered another man, Adis Hernandez-Rivas, to shoot Valladares- Fernandez who is believed to have owed Moreno-Vasquez money. Deputies found Valladares-Fernandez with a gunshot wound to the upper body but he died at the scene. Investigators later obtained video of the shooting and were able to get a license plate and images of the suspect. The three men were talking when Adiz Fernandez Rivas is accused of pulling out a handgun and shooting Valladares-Fernandez. There was enough evidence to arrest both of the suspects. Two weapons were recovered, one of which is believed to be the murder weapon.
