Katherine Magbanua, 34, and Sigfredo Garcia, 37, were charged with the murder of Dan Markel. Investigators said Garcia was hired by the family of Markel’s ex-wife, Wendi Adelson, to drive from Miami to Tallahassee to kill Markel. Both Garcia and Magbanua contended they are innocent and had no involvement in the murder. Garcia was found guilty but jurors could not reach verdicts for Katherine Magbanua who faces life in prison if convicted.
