Jessica Motes

Jessica Motes is accused of murder in the death of 4-year-old Autumn Fox, in October 2025. Motes allegedly caused the girl's death through blunt force trauma and exposed the child to a mixture of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and xylazine. Investigators also claim Motes tried to hide the body. Jessica Motes faces charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, concealing the death of another and first-degree cruelty to children. On October 26, 2025 Motes drove into a shopping center parking lot in Oakwood where she saw her father and allegedly told him that she 'Hurt Autumn Fox' and 'I think she is dead'. According to the accusations, her father then drove her away from the parking lot and, in an encounter with law enforcement, the remains of 4-year-old Autumn Fox's body were found in the trunk of Motes' in car parked at a Sam's Club in Oakwood. Fox had been in the care of Motes. Motes is accused of subjecting the child to blunt force trauma giving her multiple bruises, breaking her right arm and exposing her to fentanyl, methamphetamine and xylazine, a veterinary sedation drug. State prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
