Former Warren police officer James Burke is charged with two felony counts of vehicular homicide-manslaughter along with a pair of misdemeanor charges in connection with a high-speed crash that occurred just before 5am on September 30, 2024. Burke was responding to a call about a stolen car. He was driving without lights or sirens at about 117mph when he crashed into a white Dodge Durango. The collision killed Cedric Hayden and Dejuan Pettis.
