Edward Biesiada is charged with one count of Aggravated Murder; two counts of Murder; two counts of Felonious Assault; and one count of Intimidation. On July 24, 2026, around 1:22pm, Edward Biesiada drove to the Cuyahoga County North Royalton Service Center and parked his vehicle in the parking lot. He then entered the building with a firearm, approached David Smerek, and shot him multiple times. Biesiada then put the firearm on the counter and walked outside to the front of the building. The North Royalton Police Department and the North Royalton Fire Department responded, and 52-year-old Smerek was pronounced deceased at the scene. Biesiada was immediately arrested.
