Derrick Church is accused in the July 25, 2016 Club Blu shooting when more than 100 shots were fired leaving Stef'an Strawder, 18, and Sean Archilles, 14, dead and 14 others injured. Church faces two counts of second-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder. Four men arrived in two cars and opened fire on a crowd leaving the Club Blu Bar and Grill, in Fort Myers. It is understood that texts sent by Kierra Russ and a series of altercations between the '1Way' and 'Bottom Boys' groups led to the shooting. Kierra Russ was convicted of two second-degree murder counts and one conspiracy count and sentenced to life in prison. Don Loggins accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for one count of conspiracy to commit second-degree murder with a firearm. Tajze Battle accepted a plea deal and was sentenced to 25 years in prison conspiracy for committing second-degree murder with a firearm. Another accused, Demetrius O'Neal was found guilty of two counts of second-degree murder and one count of conspiracy and will be sentenced on December 8, 2025. On October 31, 2025 while out on bond, Church was arrested in a Fort Myers drug bust and faces six new counts of trafficking fentanyl; trafficking phenethylamines; trafficking methamphetamines; two counts of possession with intent to sell; and two counts of sale of a controlled substance. |
