Cooper Ouellette

Cooper Ouellette faces charges of First-degree manslaughter and Delivery of alcohol to a minor for the May 2023 death of his 17-year-old girlfriend, Sophie Ringquist. Ouellette and Ringquist were at an underage drinking party in Terryville, Connecticut, where witnesses reported they were arguing. Ouellette allegedly kicked Ringquist and took her phone to prevent her from getting a alternative ride home. The couple left the party together in Ouellette's pickup truck. While driving erratically, Ouellette reportedly accelerated suddenly while the truck door was open, causing Ringquist to fall to the ground. He allegedly dragged her back into the vehicle and continued to speed past her house multiple times. During an abrupt stop, Ringquist 'separated from the vehicle' and was run over by the truck's tire. Ouellette put her back in the vehicle, drove her home, repositioned her body, and told her family she had simply fallen out of the truck while sick from drinking. She passed away hours later on May 21, 2023. Following analysis of GPS data, Ouellette was arrested over a year later on July 12, 2024.
