Amanda Hernandez the wife of convicted murderer Carlos Hernandez, has been charged for her role in the October 2024 murder of Rochester Hills resident Hussein Murray. She is accused of helping plan and cover up the crime, where her husband and another man posed as DTE Energy workers to gain access to the victim's home. She is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree home invasion, accessory after the fact, and conspiracy to commit false impersonation of a utility worker. Prosecutors allege she helped create the fake DTE badges used in the home invasion. Her husband, Carlos Hernandez, along with Joshua Zoazo, was sentenced to life in prison for the murder. Carlos Hernandez and Joshua Zuazo faced charges for murder and unlawful imprisonment. They allegedly pretended to be DTE utility workers looking for gas leaks to gain access to the home in a planned robbery attempt. In the attempted robbery, the two men are accused of killing the 72-year-old homeowner Hussein Murray. Murray was found deceased in the basement with his wrists and legs duck taped. His 72-year-old wife was also duck taped upstairs as the suspects demanded she tell them where they kept the jewelry and cash. |
